And a woman spoke, saying, “Tell us of Pain.”

And he said: "Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding.

Even as the stone of the fruit must break, that its heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain.

And could you keep your heart in wonder at the daily miracles of your life, your pain would not seem less wondrous than your joy; And you would accept the seasons of your heart, even as you have always accepted the seasons that pass over your fields. And you would watch with serenity through the winters of your grief."

The Prophet, by Kahlil Gibran

ABOUT

About me

With over 7 years of clinical practice, I am a psychotherapist and mental health counsellor who runs an evidence-based, queer-affirmative, trauma-informed behavioural therapy private practice; with an  ever burning curiosity about the science and art of 'psychological wellbeing'.

This curiosity for understanding the human mind, brain and behaviour took me to Harvard where I did my graduate school training in the shadows of some of the most brilliant minds in this field, such as Dr. Ellen Langer, Dr. Steven Pink, Dr. Robert Selman and Dr. Josephine Kim.

I find immense joy in helping people build a better relationship with themselves and create the life that they want to live, from their hearts.

Along with an advanced degree in the field, I have completed numerous additional certifications and courseworks. Most of my training is specialised in evidence-based scientific behavioural interventions designed to help people across cultures overcome experiences of depression and anxiety disorders, resolve interpersonal issues, heal from trauma, stress and burnout. I also help people build sustainable practices of mindfulness and self-compassion.

About Healing

As the Buddha had said, "Pain is inevitable; suffering is optional", I do believe that pain is an inevitable part of human life. However, very often we get stuck in our ways of 'acting and being'. We fail to detach ourselves from the unhelpful patterns of our inner world and hook onto suffering as our absolute reality. However, mindfulness and self-compassion based behavioural therapies have the ability to help us heal, develop helpful perspectives and create the life we truly desire. There is immense power in self-love and self-care that helps us in healing our broken hearts and realise our true potential.
